This project aims to deliver a series of media activities including workshops that support, encourage, motivate and inspire a new generation of young people, help to build career paths and transition into adult life. This project primarily focuses on the minority youths, especially those that are facing multiple challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those who are unable to see their future positively once the pandemic is over.

In this project, we seek to deliver a range of activities that will make a difference in transforming young people’s lives, by providing a range of media skills, building hope and new career goals. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our activities will be delivered remotely, using creative media tools. There will be inspirational and motivational discussions, workshops to cover film, music, podcasting, content creation, storytelling, Video and Photo editing.

The project will provide young people with new opportunities to participate in developing quality content, engaging diverse audiences, such as unserved and underserved.

The training in media skills and knowledge will create the opportunity to build long term careers for the young ones. The project activities will benefit others that are looking to serve as volunteers, as mentors, and inspiration support to the participants.

Our organisation sees the adverse impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the community especially the young ones, making many of them leaving school with little or no prospect in building careers. The project focuses on young people’s resilience, responding to the challenges of today and having new visions for the future. The project will help to build strong relationships among participants and within their communities through media, allowing them to take lead in building their careers, contribute to community growth, and enable young people to work together cohesively, they will be able to debate, shape and build media contents that tell relevant stories. They will also build confidence, be motivated, build new careers and gain a sense of belonging.

The project took off on the 7th July, 2021. Taken into consideration that most of the participants and the volunteers are students, the seminars normally start after school hours. That is, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm London time. The lectures are held once every week. We have had four (4) lectures so far, that is, 3rd, 9th and 19th and 26th September, 2021.
